Kazakhstan’s Green Party candidate Baytaq, Alma Karash, drew attention to the impact of plastic waste on the environment and issues related to its recycling.
According to her, plastic is found not only on streets and landfills, but also in rivers, mountainous areas, and even in the air. Scientists have detected micro- and nanoplastic particles in human tissues. In addition, research continues into its potential impact on human cells and DNA.
Alma Karash believes it is wrong to associate the plastic problem solely with individual manufacturers. In her view, the main task is to create an effective system that will prevent used packaging from entering the environment and return it to production as secondary raw material.
The Baytaq party’s program provides for the development of a full-fledged waste recycling system. Special attention is paid to improving mechanisms that make it possible to return resources suitable for reuse to economic circulation.
