ASTANA. KAZINFORM The Baitaq Green Party has announced its participation in the elections to the Majilis of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports.
“We adhere to the slogan — “Clean Air, Clean Water, Clean Land — Clean Human Relations!”. We demand that the damage to the people and nature of Kazakhstan be compensated. And we believe that the wealth of the country belongs to the people. We set ourselves the goals of protecting the flora and fauna, preserving biological diversity, and introducing global principles for the sustainable use of natural resources. We advocate the introduction of environmentally friendly, innovative technologies, the digitalization of the environmental protection industry and the education of environmental consciousness from childhood. We consider holding early elections to the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and maslikhats as an opportunity to change the country’s environmental responsibility policy,” the party said in a statement.
Extraordinary elections of deputies of the Mazhilis will be held on March 19, 2023.
Earlier, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made a statement on the appointment of early elections of deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament and maslikhats. The full text of the statement can be found here.
Also, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a Decree on the dissolution of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the seventh convocation and the appointment of extraordinary elections of deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Later, the Head of State signed a Decree on the early termination of the powers of maslikhats at all levels.
